Inspection
Excess Technology comes onsite to inspect the equipment being decommissioned. This allows us to provide an accurate quote on the cost of decommissioning and buyback value of the goods.
Step 02
De-cable
Our technicians disconnect all cables connected to your equipment before removing it from the rack — safely and systematically.
Step 03
De-rack
Our technicians physically remove your equipment and rails from their racks and pack them securely for transportation.
Step 04
Racks Removal
Once all equipment has been removed, our technicians remove the empty racks from the data centre.
Step 05
Reporting
Our technicians conduct a thorough inspection of the equipment and provide the customer with a detailed IT disposal report.
Step 06
Data Erasure
Our technicians erase data from all equipment containing hard drives using Blancco software. Any drives that fail the wipe are physically destroyed.

Data Erasure
Our technicians erase data from all equipment containing hard drives using Blancco software. Any drives that fail the wipe are destroyed using our Garner PD-5 hard-drive destroyer.

We then factor in transport costs and liaise to find the most efficient collection method — whether our own trucks or trusted couriers such as FedEx.
